Angela Berns, CVA, is an accomplished workforce and volunteer services leader, consultant, and trainer with more than 18 years of experience advancing people, culture, and organizational performance across healthcare, nonprofit, and community sectors. As a national consultant, she partners with hospitals, associations, and community organizations to strengthen engagement strategies, modernize volunteer programs, and design leadership development and recognition initiatives that align with today’s workforce expectations.
Angela led an award-winning volunteer program recognized at the local, state, and national levels during her tenure at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital, managing a team of four and nearly 950 volunteers across 90 service areas and a $500K annual budget. She has served as President of the Iowa Hospital Auxilians and Volunteers (IHAV) and Leaders of Iowa Hospital Volunteers (LIHV) and as a board member for the Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP).
Known for her ability to connect purpose with performance, Angela helps organizations cultivate meaningful engagement—whether through volunteers or employees—that drives retention, learning, and lasting impact.
