PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Too often, our designs do not reflect what learning science tells us about how we really learn. Instead, we see practices like death by bullet point, tarted up drill-and-kill, and the triumph of form over function. In short, we're wasting organizational time and money. In this session, we'll review the basic human information processing loop: the memory stores and processes that move information between them. You'll actually experience the phenomena that influence how we perceive information (or not), what we attend to, what facilitates elaboation, and why how we retrieve matters. Along the way, we'll bust some myths. You'll leave with practical insights to make your designs better. Come find out how your own brain works!
