Handling Stress and Building Resiliency

This interactive workshop will begin with a small test. It will emulate taking a test during school that was timed and counted towards a grade. It has several easy and several hard questions within it. Once the participants have had their 3-4 minutes to complete we will discuss the approach they took. (Easy problems first, take harder problems and break them into smaller parts, etc.) We will discuss what resources they used which is typically none. We will use this activity to start talking about how to approach personal stressors in their lives and how it can be very similar. We will then have a brainstorming session on stress symptoms people experience and how to recognize their onset. Once they recognize they are starting to feel stress about a situation we will use the math test approach to address it early. We will finish with talking about the 4 W's. What, why, who and WOW.  This takes the math test approach and allows them to use real techniques to break down and conquer their stressors.

The workshop is fun, lighthearted, interactive and will help participants to better   manage the day to day stressors that arise.

  • Learn how to recognize stress symptoms within yourself
