Bridging the Communication Gap in the Workplace: A Mindful Approach

Description:

"No one told me about that." "I feel like my voice is rarely heard." Sound familiar? Perhaps you have said, thought, or heard something similar. You are not alone: Gallup's report on "State of the American Workforce" shows that only 13% of those surveyed feel that their leaders practice and help cultivate effective workplace communication.

Good communication fosters increased employee engagement, increases understanding, minimizes ambiguity, allows employees to openly share ideas. Ultimately, most employees want to do their jobs well, efficiently, and accurately.

By the end of this session, you will walk away with a roadmap of how you can take responsibility for what you can control and ensure that you are communicating powerfully, accurately, and efficiently. Mindfulness can help with that by equipping yourself to "redirect your attention away from a stress response and your narrowing focus toward a more generous interpretation of what is happening" (mindful.org).
