Site Program Title: Coaching Tips & Tools for Leadership Development
SHRM Credits: This program is valid for 1.5 PDCs for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM
Description:
ATD defines coaching as “applying a systematic process to improve others’ ability to set goals, take action, and maximize strengths”. Why is developing skills to be a good coach so important in Leadership Development? According to studies from the Corporate Leadership Council, poor coaching harms performance almost twice as much as good coaching helps performance. With an overwhelming number of companies facing a Leadership Development crisis around the world, developing the ability to be an effective coach is crucial to the success of your organization.
During this session we will:
- Discuss an overview of the coaching model
- Identify the difference between coaching, mentoring and counseling
- List the qualities needed to be a good coach
- Share the benefits of coaching
- Discuss tips on how to coach for development
- Review tools to incorporate into your Leadership Development toolkit
- Provide additional resources you can tap into
